UK Engineering Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled UK Engineering Manager to join our design team in the UK. As a technical expert, you will oversee and lead a team of engineers, taking on project financial responsibilities. You will manage design delivery at all stages, from feasibility studies and option analysis through to detailed designs for construction and commissioning.

This role primarily supports specific frameworks but will also provide opportunities to engage with various projects across the UK for different clients. This is a permanent position with a hybrid work model, ideally based in or around our Shrewsbury office.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Manage design delivery at all stages, from feasibility studies and option analysis through to detailed designs for construction and commissioning.">
  • Take on project financial responsibilities, including budgeting and forecasting.">
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients on technical matters.">
  • Lead and inspire team members to achieve exceptional project performance.">
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including CDM.">
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including project progress and client communications.">
  • Assess tender and project requirements, preparing fee estimates accordingly.">
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies.">

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering or an equivalent qualification.">
  • Chartered Engineer (C.Eng or I.Eng) status or working towards it, or equivalent experience demonstrating relevant competencies.">
  • Previous experience in people management is preferred.">
  • Strong management and coordination skills.">
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities and technical realization skills.">
  • Solid knowledge of statutory processes and technical standards.">
  • Familiarity with current health & safety legislation and CDM regulations.">
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment is essential.">

What We Offer

The estimated salary for this role is £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Please note that this role requires a relocation package, with the company covering moving costs and other expenses associated with relocating to the Shrewsbury area.
