Job Title: Principal Accountant
At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Principal Accountant, you'll play a vital role in our Devonport site, providing accurate and timely financial information and advice to enable effective financial control and maximise value for money, cashflow, and profitability.
The Role
As a Principal Accountant, you'll be responsible for:
- Providing financial information and advice to Business Unit and Programme Managers to support strategic business growth.
- Producing and analysing accounts in accordance with the issued monthly timetable.
- Leading financial performance reviews and managing staff to maintain the integrity of data and ensure timely and accurate cash recovery.
- Coordinating and consolidating Cost Certificates/statements for MoD in accordance with contract terms and conditions.
This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements, including 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. We offer flexible working options, including part-time, condensed hours, and job sharing.
Essential Experience:
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel.
- High-quality standards and attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Sound technical knowledge.
- Experience of IFS and/or Business Analytics is an advantage.
Qualifications:
- You must hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS) or equivalent.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
