Cybersecurity Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Analyst - Software Development to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing security controls and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
You will work closely with our development teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our software applications. Your expertise in software development will enable you to identify and address security vulnerabilities, assess risks, and develop robust security measures.
- Development Collaboration: Collaborate with development teams to design and implement security controls and best practices.
- Security Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct thorough security assessments of software applications, including code review, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning.
- Security Measures: Develop and implement robust security measures to protect against potential threats.
- Risk Management: Perform risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Security Governance: Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Knowledge Sharing: Share your knowledge and experience with development teams to enhance their understanding of secure coding practices.
- Security Incident Response: Investigate and respond to security incidents, conducting forensic analysis when necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Design and Implement Security Controls: Design and implement security controls and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Conduct Security Assessments: Conduct thorough security assessments of software applications, including code review, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning.
- Develop Security Measures: Develop and implement robust security measures to protect against potential threats.
- Maintain Security Policies: Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Stay Current with Security Trends: Stay current with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
Requirements:
- Software Development Expertise: Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices, including secure coding techniques.
- Coding Skills: Ability to read and review code in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C++, Python, C#, Golang, JavaScript) and web technologies.
- Experience with Vulnerability Scanning Tools: Experience with vulnerability scanning tools, penetration testing, and secure code review.
- Network Protocols and Operating Systems: Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP).
Estimated Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 per annum based on location and industry standards.
