Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are currently seeking a confident and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in the Stoke-on-Trent area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with special educational needs, promoting their educational and social development.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, fostering a love of learning among pupils.
  • Monitor and report on pupils' progress, providing constructive feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assist with classroom management and administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the school.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and emotional well-being among pupils, promoting a sense of community and belonging.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • A passion for working with children and a commitment to supporting their educational development.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Knowledge of SEN and experience with specific learning difficulties is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
