Job Overview:

Academics Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Teacher to join our team. As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students aged 6-11 with Autism and Asperger's Syndrome in a specialist environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver curriculum support, considering students' educational, physical, and social needs.
  • Collaborate with staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure student progress.
  • Maintain and use short-term, medium-term, and long-term plans to deliver the curriculum effectively.
  • Set, monitor, and review personalised targets to optimise learning for each individual.
  • Monitor, assess, review, and report on students' progress to parents, team members, and senior staff.
  • Stay up-to-date with training and research, taking responsibility for your professional development.

Requirements:

  • MPS/UPS + SEN allowance + £5000 joining bonus.
  • PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with ASD, SEMH, and PDA profile.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a genuine desire to work with students who have additional learning and behavioural needs.

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £55,000 per annum.
