Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team at Public Practice Recruitment Ltd. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and reviewing accounts for various clients, including Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Limited companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and review accounts for clients
- Liaise directly with clients, sending final accounts and providing proactive support
- Forecast and manage budgets, oversee workflow, and mentor junior staff
- Prepare personal and corporation tax computations, including tax returns and tax liabilities
- Work closely with senior team members to ensure expectations, deadlines, and budgets are met
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful accountancy practice that works with a varied and loyal client portfolio from a broad range of business sectors. As a Senior Accountant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with senior team members, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the firm's strategic direction.
Requirements:
- AAT qualified, with at least 12 months' post-qualification experience
- Or qualified by experience, with at least three years' experience across a broad range of accountancy support for a varied client portfolio
- Working knowledge of accounting software, including Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero
- Experience using software for accounts production, such as CCH
- Adept at using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Word
- Strong communication and advisory skills
- Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Self-motivated and able to manage a team's workflow
- A team player able to bring out the best in others
