Job Description

Alchemy Global Talent Solutions is partnering with a renowned contemporary art gallery in London to find an exceptional Editorial Content Manager.

  • Oversee the creative process and writing/editing of content for press releases, previews, social media, and online exhibitions, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with artists, studios, liaisons, and Digital and Communications management to achieve exceptional outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain artist biographies to populate artist pages on websites, showcasing the gallery's expertise.
  • Contribute to writing applications for art fairs with the directors and artist liaisons, leveraging the gallery's reputation.
  • Create engaging content for handouts and wall vinyls, highlighting the gallery's unique offerings.
  • Edit and proofread all writing for the London location, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Manage the website and other digital communications' written content, including digital invitations and newsletters, and oversee all digital mailings.
  • Work on video material, communicating with the director, conducting Q&As and interviews with the artist, reviewing edits with the artist liaison, and coordinating with the Head of Digital for London on the production brief, scheduling, and sign-off.
  • Proven experience working at a contemporary art institution or commercial gallery is essential.
  • Academic proficiency, such as writing offers for artwork dossiers, is a must.
  • Outstanding English language ability, writing, and editing skills are required.
  • The ability to create readable texts for various gallery objectives, such as press releases, wall text, newsletter articles, and website entries, is crucial.
  • A keen sense of detail and solid proofreading abilities are necessary for success in this role.
