Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Fire Safety Coordinator Assistant to join our team at Equans. As a key member of our Professional Services Team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a professional and efficient health and safety administrative service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in promoting good fire safety practices and the day-to-day management of the fire safety role on-site.
  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining the EDF's fire risk assessment programme, produce risk assessments and identify risks and actions for remedy.
  • Provide suitable fire safety guidance and information for site and keep abreast of any changes to relevant fire safety legislation and guidance.
  • Assist in inspection, care and maintenance of fire extinguishers and related equipment.
  • Collation of monthly KPIs for Fire Safety.
  • Production of OPEX / Toolbox Talks.
  • Update of Fire Safety documentation PIOI's, check sheets and independent verification forms.
  • Implementation and ongoing monitoring of Fire Extinguisher controls and laydown records.
  • Creation and maintenance of Fire Extinguisher digital records.
  • Management of various fire safety projects.

Requirements:

  • FPA level 3 certificate or equivalent.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, lift, push and carry up to HSE guidelines.
  • ECDL or equivalent in MS Office programs, including Word & Excel.
  • Conducting fire risk assessments.
  • Auditing fire safety equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Scottish fire safety legislation and familiarity with codes of practice and guidance.
  • Ability and experience of producing written reports and statistical information using IT software.
  • Previous experience of using computers to input/retrieve and interrogate data.
