Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEMH Specialist

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Vision for Education - Cornwall. As a SEMH specialist, you will work closely with children who require additional support to develop their social, emotional, and mental health skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with daily living skills, such as personal care and organization.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of students.
  • Full, clean driving license and business insurance (as the role may require off-site work).
  • DBS on the Update Service (we can support with this).
