NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical professions.
We deliver a wide range of acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care services to over 1.15 million people and a wider population of 2.2 million through our regional and national services.
You must have a live NMC UK PIN to be considered for this post.
The shift pattern is rotational, with Monday to Sunday coverage, including days and nights, as well as 12-hour shifts.
Please note that the salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team within Maxfax/Head & Neck Cancer Surgery at the Institute of Neurological Sciences, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Our Department of OMFS/Head & Neck Cancer Services provides pioneering procedures and care as part of regional services for the West of Scotland.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic staff nurse to join our team, who will work on a 23-bedded ward providing emergency and elective MaxFax and Head & Neck cancer surgery services.
All staff will be supported by our dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator for Neurosciences & OMFS, and undergo an in-house training competency framework and university-accredited courses to support their development.
You will work 12-hour shifts to cover the 24/7 service, which is part-time.
The key requirements for this role include being a registered nurse with experience in OMFS/Head & Neck Surgery nursing, preferably, but not essential.
Registration with the UK NMC is essential, and you must demonstrate a commitment to patient-centred care, continuing professional development, and understanding of our service and its specific needs.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde encourages applications from all sections of the community, promoting a culture of inclusion across the organisation.
We support applications from across the Armed Forces Community, recognising military skills, experience, and qualifications during the recruitment and selection process.
NHS Scotland is reducing its full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay.
This reduction will also be applied pro-rata for part-time staff, but some service areas may require temporary additional hours due to roster changes.
Candidates should provide original and authentic responses to all questions within the application form, ensuring their answers reflect their personal knowledge, skills, and experience.
Failure to comply with this requirement may result in your application being withdrawn from the application process.
