Job Summary

We are seeking a Governance Support Officer to join our team at Star Central. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with key individuals at the heart of our decision-making process, providing an efficient governance support, administration, and advice service that meets statutory and regulatory compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will work as part of an expanding and professional team, enabling them to develop and demonstrate their skills in a supportive environment. This vacancy is an excellent opportunity for someone who wishes to start or progress their career in the academy/corporate governance sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide governance support, administration, and advice to our trust or school committees, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance requirements are met.
  • Work closely with our senior leadership team, trustees, Star Central staff, schools, and governors, and other stakeholders to deliver an effective governance support service.
  • Manage and prioritise your own workload effectively, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of tasks and projects.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of academy/corporate governance and regulatory needs, ensuring our trust or school committees are well-informed and supported.
Requirements
  • An A Level/NVQ qualification Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to be proficient in editing documents, ensuring clear formatting and presentation.
  • The ability to manage your own workload effectively.
  • An awareness and interest in academy/corporate governance and the need to ensure regulatory needs are met.
