Public Sector Contract Specialist

VanRath is seeking a highly skilled professional to join its team as a Public Sector Contract Specialist. This exciting opportunity allows you to contribute to the financial and contractual elements of various public sector projects.
Main Responsibilities:
- Project Cost Management: Prepare accurate cost estimates for various stages of public sector projects, ensuring transparency and value for money.
- Contract Administration: Oversee the administration of contracts, including preparing contract documents, tracking key deliverables, and supporting the resolution of contractual issues.
- Risk and Compliance Management: Evaluate and manage potential project risks, providing recommendations to mitigate them, and ensure compliance with public sector policies, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Team Collaboration: Liaise effectively with project teams, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders, providing guidance on cost control, project efficiency, and contract compliance.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional Background: Proven experience in quantity surveying, ideally within a public sector setting, with familiarity with public sector contracts and procurement guidelines.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of quantity surveying principles, cost management, and project control methodologies, with proficiency in industry-standard software for cost estimation and project management.
- Communication and Negotiation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
- Qualifications: A professional qualification in Quantity Surveying (e.g., RICS Membership or equivalent), with additional certifications in project management or procurement beneficial.
