Highways Infrastructure Specialist

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Parking and Highways Service Manager to lead the management and development of the Parking and Highway Service at West Suffolk Council.

The successful candidate will oversee the operation of parking enforcement, car park maintenance, street lighting, and public Rights of Way. Additionally, they will be responsible for supervising the management of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) and delegated highway responsibilities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. Lead and develop the Parking and Highway Service in line with council strategies.
2. Manage parking enforcement, car park maintenance, street lighting, and public Rights of Way.
3. Oversee on-street parking operations, including Resident Permit Areas and Civil Parking Enforcement.
4. Supervise the management of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) and delegated highway responsibilities.
5. Develop car parking infrastructure and introduce modern payment systems.
6. Collaborate with key partners, including Suffolk County Council, to deliver service improvements.
7. Manage a diverse workforce, ensuring high performance and compliance with statutory requirements.

**Requirements:**

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management or related field.
• Proven experience in transportation management, preferably in a local government setting.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience with budget management and financial planning.
