Senior Research Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral researcher to join our team at Lancaster University, led by Dr. Richard Mort, to investigate the cellular and genetic basis of the iconic spotting patterns observed in the Dalmatian dog.
Our research group focuses on development, tissue homeostasis, and disease, with a particular emphasis on skin and the melanocyte lineage. We employ live imaging of cells and tissues, biosensors of cellular processes, and mathematical modeling, in collaboration with the Shih group at Lancaster University and Dr. Kit Yates at the University of Bath.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field, experience in cell culture and molecular/cell biology techniques, and an interest in developmental patterning. Gene targeting, live imaging, transcriptomics, and bioinformatic analysis skills are advantageous. We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and the capacity to solve problems creatively.
This is a fixed-term position for 44 months, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a collaborative project and advance our understanding of the genetic and cellular basis of the Dalmatian dog's distinctive appearance.
