Business and Finance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Business and Finance Manager to join our team at The Eggtooth Project, a leading creative mental health organisation in Hastings and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the Finance function, working closely with the Co-Director to source new business opportunities and negotiate contracts with suppliers or customers.
  • Prepare detailed budgets to improve cost-efficiency and deliver high-quality services.
  • Produce timely management accounts, cashflow, and other financial reports with analysis and commentary to inform decision-making.
  • Develop and implement robust financial procedures, controls, and systems to ensure compliance and diligent resource management.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a hands-on Finance Manager role, with strong knowledge of financial management principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in managing multiple income streams and financial systems, processes, and controls.
  • Ability to work flexibly and support an organisation at a time of growth and transition.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Part or fully qualified accountant/bookkeeper within ACA/ACCA, AAT, or QBE, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of the voluntary, third sector, or charity sector and its financial culture.
