About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sustainability Director to join our team at HDR. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in driving sustainability initiatives and ensuring our services meet the needs of our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental engineering, sustainability, or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years of experience. They will possess excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop detailed energy models using eQuest or other simulation software.

In this role, you will work closely with our leadership team to ensure successful delivery of sustainability tasks across various projects. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior colleagues, identifying opportunities for new services, and managing administrative tasks such as timecards and procurement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sustainability strategies for clients, utilizing your expertise in energy-efficient commercial lighting systems and mechanical systems.
  • Lead project teams in delivering sustainable solutions, collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior colleagues, promoting knowledge transfer and professional development within the team.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including data on service line tasks and financial information.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a relevant field, preferably with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency.
  • Demonstrated expertise in evaluating state-of-the-art building designs and energy-efficiency technologies.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, controls, and specialized requirements of technical facilities.
