We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Austin Fraser, providing high-quality care and support to our clients in their own homes.
About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on people's lives as a Senior Care Assistant. You will be responsible for carrying out care as per residents' care plans, continually assessing and monitoring the needs and wishes of the residents, and supporting Nursing Staff to assess, implement, and evaluate service users' care plans.
Key Responsibilities:- Care Delivery: Deliver personalized and compassionate care to each resident, ensuring their unique needs are met.
- Risk Assessments: Continually assess and monitor the needs and wishes of the residents, identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
- Medication Administration: Assist Nursing Staff to administer medication, adhering to strict guidelines and protocols.
- Communication: Establish and maintain good relationships between residents, relatives, and staff, ensuring effective communication at all times.
- Duty Allocation: Support nursing staff to allocate duties and tasks to care staff, promoting efficient workflow and maximizing resources.
- Qualifications: Hold a SVQ 3 qualification or have equivalent experience as a senior, with a willingness to work towards this level.
- Training: Be medication trained and have experience giving medication.
- Registration: Be registered with the SSSC.
- Knowledge: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Social Care Codes of Practice.
- Experience: Possess experience in Care Planning and risk assessments.
- Skills: Exhibit excellent communication skills.
This role involves working 38.5 or 44 hours a week, with a rolling rota of 3 shifts one week and 4 shifts the next week. Shifts are 12 hours long, with a mixture of day and night shifts, so flexibility is essential.
