Aon is seeking a skilled professional to lead and handle complex claims on behalf of our clients. As a Principal Claims Consultant, you will work within our Aon Global Risk Consulting business group to empower better decisions for our clients through innovative solutions.

The role involves leading large, sophisticated property damage and business interruption losses, advising on initial decisions regarding mitigation and reinstatement, and working with insurers' loss adjusters to establish how the policy will respond.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Advising on initial decisions regarding mitigation and reinstatement to regain pre-loss operational position in the most cost-effective and time-efficient manner.
  2. Assisting in resolving the cause of the incident and working with the insurer's loss adjusters to establish how the policy will respond.
  3. Calculating an order of magnitude and cash flow forecast to ensure a cash-neutral position.
  4. Compiling interim claim submissions and leading the claims process through to successful settlement and closure.
  5. Leading communication with clients, insurers, loss adjusters, and other third parties involved.
  6. Developing and implementing strategies to expand relationships with internal and external clients of the firm.
  7. Understanding client and market trends to expand the team's service offering.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a qualified loss adjuster, forensic accountant, claims manager, claims consultant, or equivalent; handling commercial lines and multinational clients.
  • Strong policy interpretation and technical insurance skills.
  • Knowledge in project scheduling and construction estimating.
  • Knowledge of replacement valuations or physical property.
  • Ability to lead a large claim and conduct C-suite level discussions.
