About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled medical professional to join our team as a Deputy Chief Medical Officer. This is a key leadership role that will contribute to the strategic direction of our clinical services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide professional leadership to our medical workforce, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
  2. Contribute to the development of clinical strategies, working closely with the Chief Clinical Officer and other senior leaders.
  3. Lead clinical governance initiatives, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice.
  4. Act as the Responsible Officer for BPAS, ensuring the effective management of medical workforce strategy and succession planning.
  5. Maintain a visible presence, providing expert guidance on clinical matters to the BPAS Board and driving improvements in our services.
About You

We are looking for a credible clinical leader with a medical degree and GMC registration, with a wealth of experience in abortion care and clinical governance. You will have experience working within multidisciplinary teams and have demonstrable clinical leadership in a healthcare setting. Your ability to inspire and influence at all levels, coupled with your resilience and strategic mindset, will ensure that BPAS continues to offer safe, high-quality care.

British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) is the UK's largest independent women's reproductive healthcare charity. We work mainly on behalf of the NHS across the country, providing abortion, contraception, STI testing and treatment. We specialise in evidence-based, not-for-profit care reproductive healthcare.
