SQL Server Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft SQL Server DBA to join our team at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for providing expert-level support for all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server, including design, administration, backup/recovery, and high availability.
Key Responsibilities
Install and configure Windows Clusters, Microsoft SQL Servers, and Availability Groups
Maintain and troubleshoot high availability and disaster recovery, including Windows Clustering and Always On Availability Groups
Conduct root cause analysis, database performance monitoring, and capacity planning
Performance tuning of databases and queries
Implement and manage monitoring and proactive alerting processes
Automation via SQL Server Agent and PowerShell scripting
Participate in key periodic operations tasks, including high availability and disaster recovery testing, operating system and database patching, database upgrades, and migrations
Provide comprehensive and clear documentation for all new database builds, redevelopments, and enhancements
Collaborate with developers to architect database solutions for core platform initiatives
Work independently and within a wider team with minimal supervision
Attend and actively participate in SCRUM ceremonies and events
Ability to be proactive, multitask, and stay organized in a dynamic work environment
Good oral and written communication skills in English
Requirements
Strong knowledge of SQL Server High Availability technologies, including Windows Clustering, Availability Groups, and Distributed Availability Groups
Windows Clustering
Enterprise-scale mission-critical SQL Server implementations, VLDB, multiple databases with Availability Groups
Implementing and troubleshooting SQL Server High Availability groups
Troubleshooting SQL Server Database Engine
Root cause analysis, database performance monitoring, and capacity planning
SQL Server migration and upgrade
SQL Server backup and recovery
Indexes and Statistics
SQL Server patch management
PowerShell Scripting
