Job Summary
Premier Engineering is seeking a seasoned Engineering Director to spearhead the engineering function of a reputable manufacturing company in Essex. As a senior leadership role, this position requires strategic vision and technical expertise to drive innovation and ensure the company's continued success.

About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the engineering department, including design, production, and R&D teams. This will involve developing and implementing engineering strategies aligned with company objectives, overseeing project delivery, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, the Engineering Director will collaborate with other departments to achieve business goals and represent the company in client meetings. A strong background in Lean Manufacturing and industry standards is essential, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the engineering department, including design, production, and R&D teams.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Oversee project delivery, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline requirements are met.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement across the business.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve business goals.
  • Represent the company in client meetings.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in engineering leadership roles within the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong technical expertise in design, production, and process improvement.
  • Proven track record of managing engineering teams and large-scale projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.

Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of £90,000 to £120,000 per annum (plus benefits), reflecting the company's commitment to attracting and retaining top talent.
