Software Developer for Intranet Applications

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Software Engineer to work at our Doncaster site in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and supporting bespoke IT applications and solutions for the Rail Division based on business requirements.
Main Purpose of the Role
To develop and support bespoke IT applications and solutions for the Rail Division based on business requirements, working to deadlines and under pressure, with a strong focus on reliability and security.
Accountability for the day-to-day running and performance of IT applications. Jobholder is responsible for resolution of any issues relating to the applications.
Spread Of Skills & Analysis Required
Work will require creativity and initiative to be shown in developing appropriate IT applications for use by the business. Will require detailed knowledge of a number of IT applications / software language skills and be able to determine appropriate use for business need.
Qualifications & Education
Essential: Degree in Computer Studies or related subject (or equivalent experience).
Experience & Proven Ability Required
- Experience of Microsoft SQL server
- Experience of ASP, ASP.NET
- Good business and commercial awareness
- Self-motivated
Duties & Key Responsibilities
APPLICATION / SOLUTION DEVELOPMENT
- Responsible for development of the Unipart Rail Intranet, Intranet Applications and Web applications
- Web and System Development – ASP.NET, VB/C#, MS SQL, JS, JQUERY, JAVA (Android Dev), XML on Web Sites, Angular, MVC, Web Services and Desktop Applications
APPLICATION / SOLUTION SUPPORT
- Responsible for the support of the Unipart Rail Intranet, Intranet Applications and Web applications
- Responsible for ensuring that reported issues/bugs are investigated and resolved as a priority.
