Temporary Accommodation Risk Manager

We are seeking a skilled Temporary Accommodation Health and Safety Compliance Officer to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our compliance department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of our clients living in temporary accommodation.
Your primary responsibility will be to oversee health and safety compliance for temporary accommodation, including fire risk, asbestos, energy performance, gas, electrical safety, and Legionella. You will also ensure the Council's legal responsibilities regarding health and safety are met, incorporating any legislative changes into policies and procedures.
In addition to your compliance duties, you will perform inspections of temporary accommodation to ensure properties meet required standards and are fit for occupation. You will also maintain accurate databases, ensuring the validity of compliance certificates and property data.
As part of our team, you will produce regular reports for senior management, analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and highlighting compliance inconsistencies. You will work collaboratively with internal teams, landlords, accommodation providers, and other external stakeholders to improve service delivery and ensure compliance.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing health and safety compliance for temporary accommodation.
- Maintaining accurate databases and ensuring the validity of compliance certificates and property data.
- Producing regular reports for senior management.
- Collaborating with internal teams, landlords, accommodation providers, and other external stakeholders.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong background in managing large, complex compliance portfolios, including conducting audits, inspections, and maintaining accurate data records. Experience in a similar compliance-focused role, particularly in a housing or accommodation environment, is highly valued.
You should possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. Additionally, you must be proficient in using relevant software and systems, including database management and reporting tools.
A comprehensive understanding of health and safety legislation, particularly in housing services and temporary accommodation, is also essential. This includes experience managing compliance in areas such as gas, electrical safety, fire risk, and energy efficiency.
Estimated salary: £33,000 - £40,000 per year, dependent on experience.
