We are seeking an Applied Cryptanalyst to join our team at Ripple. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing secure cryptographic protocols, analyzing academic whitepapers, and researching and implementing cryptographic systems.

About the Role:

This role requires a strong background in cryptography, mathematics, or a related field. You will work closely with our engineering team to design and develop secure cryptographic protocols, perform security assessments, and collaborate with the broader community to share knowledge and best practices.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop secure cryptographic protocols, including asymmetric cryptography, hash functions, commitments, and digital signatures.
  • Analyze academic whitepapers to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cryptography.
  • Research and implement cryptographic systems, including those related to blockchain technology.
  • Perform security assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations.
  • Collaborate with the broader community to share knowledge and best practices.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in cryptography, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of number-theoretical problems related to asymmetric cryptography, hash functions, commitments, and digital signatures.
  • Experience in one or more programming languages: Scala, Rust, C++, or Python.
  • A passion for sharing knowledge with your team and the broader community.
  • Fluency in English.
Estimated Salary:

$160,000 - $220,000 per year, depending on experience.
