Job Title: Maintenance Engineer Apprentice

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer Apprentice to join our team at Meatex Trading Ltd. The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team, providing skilled support in matters relating to premises maintenance and machinery repair.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure plant equipment is operated and functioning correctly.
  • Maintain equipment on a daily basis to ensure it is fit for purpose.
  • Ensure appropriate housekeeping standards are maintained daily.
  • Continuously develop to improve operations, driving improvements in quality, cost, and safety.
  • Assist production with machinery problems and setups, providing relevant training when necessary.
  • Fault find and diagnose issues.
  • Follow a PPM schedule and record follow-up work.
  • Protect the integrity of the Company through positive and constructive actions and attitude.
Requirements:
  • A BTEC/C&G in electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • An appropriate post-apprenticeship in food manufacturing or work experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Appropriate work experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Competent at working with electricity and conducting electrical work safely.
  • Experience of problem-solving and troubleshooting electrical issues.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, commitment, and the ability to accept responsibility are key in this role.
  • Authorisation to work in the UK is required.
