Quality Assurance Manager

H9 Technical Recruitment is seeking a Quality Manager to join their team based in Blackburn. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking full ownership of quality control and assurance across all stages of the business. This will involve contributing to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance. The Quality Manager will lead quality projects and lean manufacturing initiatives to support continuous improvement for customer delivery and improve business KPIs. They will develop and implement quality control procedures, testing, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications. The role will also involve conducting regular audits and inspections of production processes and products to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality standards. Additionally, the Quality Manager will enhance customer complaint and internal non-conformance investigations to identify root cause and appropriate corrective and preventative actions. They will maintain documentation and records related to quality control activities, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans. The successful candidate will also work towards and ensure recertification of ISO 9001, FSC, and any other quality certifications required by the Group. The Quality Manager will develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance. They will work collaboratively, negotiate, and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the Quality strategy. The role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and procurement, to address quality-related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a quality management role within manufacturing. They will have knowledge of ISO 9001 and strong root cause analysis skills (8D & 5Ys). The successful candidate will also have strong IT and document control skills. Significant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably paper manufacturing, is also required. A hands-on leadership style is essential for this role. The salary for this position is up to £55,000.
