Senior Health and Safety Specialist

ApcOA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our health and safety team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety across our parking operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement robust health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure appropriate control measures are in place.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to all levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Carry out regular site inspections and audits to ensure EHS policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
  • Ensure working practices are safe and comply with Company policy and relevant legislation.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.
  • Keep records of site inspection/audit findings and produce reports that identify non-compliances and suggest improvements.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive legislation and any developments that may affect the parking/security/enforcement industry.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a health and safety role.
  • Relevant health and safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH/IEMA).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach to health and safety management.
  • Able to design and deliver presentations, produce written reports, and analyse data.
