Main Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Advisor to join our in-house Legal team at Keepmoat. The successful candidate will provide legal advice and support on a range of matters, including construction and commercial disputes.

Reporting into the General Counsel, the Senior Legal Advisor will work collaboratively with the Legal and Compliance team to ensure the efficient and effective handling of legal matters. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing legal advice and support on a wide range of legal matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction and commercial agreements.
  2. Using persuasion and influencing skills to secure strategic outcomes that are compliant with the law and further the strategic direction of the business.
  3. Commissioning and managing the provision of external legal advice, where necessary, to ensure that panel solicitors are provided with all necessary information to provide accurate and targeted advice.
  4. Contributing to the development of best-in-class practice, policy, and procedures of the Legal and Compliance team.
  5. Developing and delivering toolkits and legal awareness training to educate colleagues on the legal process, including dispute management, precedent documentation, and regulatory compliance.
  6. Collaborating with project work groups to ensure projects align with legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. 2+ years of post-qualified experience with substantial legal work experience in litigation and/or corporate and/or commercial work.
  2. UK qualification and the right to work in the UK, with the ability to travel across the UK on occasion.
  3. A passion for delivering high-quality legal advice and support, with a collaborative and confident approach to advising and influencing at all levels in the business.

Education and Qualifications

Previous experience in the property sector would be an advantage but is not essential.
