Main Objectives

  • To reduce waiting times for patients with eye conditions through innovative solutions.
  • To deliver exceptional care without the requirement for a hospital stay, ensuring minimal disruption to patients' lives.
  • To have a positive impact on patients' lives by offering life-changing cataract surgery in as little as four weeks.
  • To provide care closer to home for the patient in line with DoH guidelines, improving accessibility and convenience.
  • To reduce overall waiting times in the health economy, creating additional capacity in secondary care.
  • To aim to provide a fast and efficient patient-focused pathway in collaboration with patient representatives and primary care professionals, utilizing the latest technologies and equipment.

Your Role

You will work closely with our expert consultant ophthalmologists to provide exceptional care to patients in need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting pre-operative tests and assisting during consent appointments and treatments, including providing information to patients prior to their Cataract procedure.
  • Discharging patients, instructing them on the care of their eyes, updating medical records, and making follow-up appointments.
  • Coordinating patient flow on the day of consent appointments and surgery, minimizing waiting times and managing queries.
  • Supporting surgeons during consent appointments and treatments, acting as a scrub assistant, and taking notes for the surgeon.
  • Participating in end-of-treatment-day activities, updating patient files, and reporting any untoward incidents.
