Job Title: Consultant in Microbiology

We are seeking an experienced Consultant in Microbiology to join our team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS FT. As a key member of our microbiology department, you will play a vital role in managing HIV/AIDS and other blood-borne infections, as well as controlling the spread of infectious diseases.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice to healthcare professionals on the management of patients with infectious diseases.
  • Make complex clinical decisions involving the analysis and interpretation of data, including antibiotic resistance analysis.
  • Supervise the running of the diagnostic laboratory and ensure the delivery of prompt and accurate test results.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours advisory service on infection diagnosis and management.
  • Work with infection control teams to investigate and prevent communicable diseases in the community.
Requirements:
  • Be a GMC registered Doctor.
  • Have relevant experience at Consultant level or references to support your transition up to Consultant level.
  • Hold evidence of stand-alone Right to Work in the UK.
  • Pass an enhanced background check (DBS).
