Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Civil Engineer to provide technical expertise and design capabilities to develop and deliver water and wastewater solutions. As a key member of our project team, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to produce designs that meet the required standards, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce civil designs, calculations, and specifications to 'Issued For Construction' standard for water, wastewater, or pipeline projects, collaborating with CAD technicians to create 3D models or 2D drawings.
- Work within multi-discipline design teams to produce designs that meet project objectives, liaising with stakeholders, including operations, contractors, and suppliers.
- Drive excellence in Health and Safety in design by eliminating hazards and reducing risks during design, adhering to Alliance CDM procedures.
- Progress projects from feasibility stage through detailed design to construction, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Conduct site visits to assess current asset conditions for feasibility studies, reports, and provide survey data for integration into design solutions.
- Support the development and update of Standard Products used in design solutions, promoting repeatable and efficient processes.
- Identify and promote opportunities to meet project digital, sustainability, innovation, and people objectives.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will hold a minimum of HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or demonstrate suitable experience in Civil Engineering. You will have experience in undertaking design of various civil engineering structures within the Water and Waste Water Industry, be proficient in MS Office suite and relevant engineering design software packages, and have a strong understanding of British Standards and Eurocodes.
You will be accustomed to communicating with a range of people, collaborating to meet and exceed stakeholder expectations. Your strong reporting and writing skills, along with data analysis capabilities, will enable you to understand challenges and suggest enhanced ways of working.
