Job Summary
The Moray Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Disposal Operative to join our team in Elgin. As a key member of our Environmental Services team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient disposal of controlled waste at our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate plant, vehicles, and equipment to ensure the safe and efficient disposal of waste.
- Work at various facilities to cover for sickness absence and annual leave.
- Use your knowledge of plant and vehicle maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Significant experience in a similar role, preferably in a labor-intensive environment.
- Good literacy skills to read and act on instructions.
- Digital driver's tachograph card and Driver CPC.
- Cat C and E Licence.
- Knowledge of general plant and vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
- Self-confidence, self-motivation, adaptability, and ability to follow routines and instructions.
- Physical capability to perform medium laboring duties and handle heavy items.
Working Conditions
You will be working in an unhygienic environment and will be required to work outdoors in inclement conditions. You must be willing to accept direction and delegation and work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
