Transport Planner Role

SCP, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent hybrid role, and candidates must be commutable to the Manchester office. The successful candidate will be joining a growing team that values the development, training, and diversity of their workforce.

The RSK Group is a rapidly growing transport planning consultancy with an increasing need for support across various sectors, particularly energy and utilities. Our teams are involved in a significant proportion of major solar farms and wind farms across the UK, driving the change to renewable energy sources. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with experience of EIA and DCO projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide essential support for more senior personnel to ensure successful delivery of a commission;
  • To provide expertise and assistance in the aspects of highway engineering and/or transportation planning for which they have been trained;
  • Liaise/meet with other consultants and external members of the project team where necessary to ensure co-ordination of information and resources;
  • To have a full understanding of all the tools and techniques employed within the field of highway engineering and transportation planning;
  • To be conversant with all local and national planning policies and guidelines insofar as they relate to transportation and development;

Person Specification

  • Experience of working on property, energy, or environmental projects;
  • Relevant degree, such as geography, engineering, planning, or MSc in Transport Planning or HND;
  • Ability to use and interpret the results of Arcady, Picady, LINSIG, TRICS, AutoCAD, and AutoTRACK;
  • Ability to manage time and work to strict deadlines.
