Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Chef to join Barchester Healthcare, a leading provider of healthcare services in the UK. As a Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to work with fresh seasonal produce, create appetizing and nutritious menus, and deliver high-quality food service to residents in a warm and supportive environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence and assist in menu development
  • Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes cooked at the highest standards
  • Create a warm, efficient, and fun environment in the kitchen
  • Work within budget and complete regular audits to ensure high standards of food preparation and service
  • Manage stock control and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene

Person Specification
  • The successful candidate should hold a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification, have a good understanding of nutrition, and experience working with fresh seasonal food
  • Demonstrate a personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
  • Have a good understanding of HACCP and be able to create a warm and welcoming environment within the home
