Job Title: English Teacher - SEMH Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced English Teacher to join our team at Cambian Devon school. As a member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality education to pupils aged 7-18 years with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The successful candidate will have suitable education qualifications, such as QTS or a teaching degree, and experience in implementing positive behavior support strategies. Knowledge of inclusive education, child and adult safeguarding procedures, and SEN, particularly SEMH, is also essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • To teach English to students with SEMH needs, adapting lesson plans to meet individual requirements
  • To implement positive behavior support strategies to promote student well-being and engagement
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of curriculum plans that meet the needs of students with SEMH

Requirements

  • A commitment to working in an inclusive setting
  • An awareness, understanding, and commitment to equal opportunities
  • A working knowledge of SEN, particularly SEMH
