Job Title: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Fakenham, Norfolk

Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum

Shift pattern:

Reports to: Engineering Manager/Senior Engineer

Direct Reports: None

Business Function: All Business Production Lines/Plants

Key Responsibilities
  1. To ensure all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities are completed on time, providing feedback to the Senior Engineer to improve the PPM system and activities.
  2. To work closely with the Engineer on the opposite shift to ensure a smooth handover of ongoing activities, sharing information and best practices as required.
  3. To contribute to the continuous improvement of plant, machinery, and maintenance activities, working with the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to identify long-running problems and suitable solutions.
  4. To optimize equipment performance, reliability, and running costs for replacement parts and consumables, ensuring Production is kept informed of progress.
  5. To undertake repairs to equipment in a safe and timely manner, ensuring Production is updated on progress.
  6. To undertake remedial engineering works to equipment or site as instructed by the Engineering Manager.
  7. To identify and communicate any risks of safety or failure of equipment or site to the Manager.
  8. To work with the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to ensure contractors are working safely on site and adhering to site Health and Safety rules and procedures.
  9. To ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with the Site Health and Safety instructions and the SSG Health and Safety manual, as well as relevant engineering standards.
  10. To report any incidents, accidents, and near misses in accordance with Health and Safety Policies.
  11. To maintain good housekeeping standards and ensure company assets are maintained to achieve maximum efficiency.
  12. To maintain excellent communication between Production staff and colleagues.

Requirements:

  1. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  2. Electrical Installation 18th Edition.
  3. Electrical Installation Maintenance.
  4. Mechanical Fabrication/Maintenance.
  5. Electronic fault finding to component level.
  6. Recognised qualification relevant to the role (e.g. mechanical or electrical C&G).
  7. Skilled in both Electrical and Mechanical trades: Apprenticeship with indentures.
  8. Knowledge of other engineering disciplines including pneumatics, hydraulics, steam systems.
