About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Process Engineer to join our team at Kent Plc. As a key member of our Process Department, you will play a vital role in shaping our exciting projects and contributing to the success of our rapidly expanding UK Engineering Services business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage process engineering design teams to deliver high-quality designs within agreed schedules and budgets.
  • Develop and implement process design philosophies, studies, and heat and material balances to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve design consistency and ensure compliance with client specifications and international equipment standards.
  • Supervise and direct process engineering activities, including process design basis, PFDs, UFDs, PEDs, and process systems.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests and provide process engineering input and support to close out actions.
  • Develop and maintain process engineering documentation, including technical reports, process datasheets, and HAZOP close-out reports.
  • Ensure compatibility and conformance with client specifications and recommend cost-effective improvements to equipment selection and specifications.
  • Participate in HAZOP meetings with clients and representatives of other engineering disciplines.
  • Consult with Quality Assurance on quality issues and ensure compliance with Kent's ISO Quality procedures, Project Quality Plan, and Design Integrity processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to the training and development of other staff, including identifying employee strengths and weaknesses and recommending training and development requirements.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
  • Chartered Status preferred, with significant related experience working for engineering/client organizations in the oil and gas industry and/or low-carbon energy transition projects.
  • Extensive experience in onshore detailed design projects, with exposure to consultancy, FEED, and EPC projects.
  • Knowledge of international equipment specifications and codes, as well as standard international specifications and codes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate, monitor, and supervise process engineering activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to meet schedules and deadlines and work effectively in a team environment.
