Internship Opportunity in Editorial/Fashion Photography

Luxe Media LLC, a leading luxury brand, is seeking a talented student to join our team as an Editorial/Fashion Photographer Intern/Volunteer. As a member of our studio team, you will work alongside our stylists to capture high-quality digital product stills for Felix Magazine.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring that all products are lit correctly, efficiently, and creatively, in accordance with Luxe Media guidelines. You will also produce high-quality images, accurately archive them, and prepare sets for new website material.

To be successful in this role, you must have a passion for women's economic opportunities and be a full or part-time student working toward a degree. You should also be eligible to receive school credit and commit to 2-3 days a week for 3 months.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and creative individual who is comfortable with ambiguity and able to work autonomously. Previous experience in a studio environment and proven experience with digital cameras and lighting are essential. Strong technical proficiency in PhotoShop, Capture One, and networked computers is also required.

As a team player, you will be responsible for working well within a team, maintaining digital asset file/structure organization, and performing quality assurance on all images. Responsibilities:

  1. Work in the studio team alongside the stylists taking digital product stills for Felix Magazine.
  2. Ensure that all products are lit correctly, efficiently, and creatively, in accordance with Luxe Media guidelines.
  3. Produce high-quality and consistently beautiful images, ensuring they are correctly exposed and colour consistent.
  4. Accurately archive images to be easily accessed by other Luxe Media departments.
  5. Prepare sets, checking that all equipment is functioning, setting up appropriate lighting, and keeping accurate daily shoot records.
  6. Meet daily and weekly deadlines to prepare for new website material.
  7. Care for and maintain all studio equipment, props, and supplies.
  8. Retouch, crop, and upload digital images when needed.
  9. Name and maintain digital asset file/structure organization.
  10. Perform quality assurance on all images.
  11. Crop digital photographic images and maintain file size specification guidelines.

Qualifications:

  1. A passion for women's economic opportunities.
  2. Must be a full or part-time student working toward a degree.
  3. Must be eligible to receive school credit and commit to 2-3 days a week for 3 months.
  4. Comfortable with ambiguity and able to work autonomously.
  5. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and other groups as necessary both internally and externally.
  6. Flexible; ability to adapt to changing priorities and multiple tasks.
  7. Previous experience in a studio environment.
  8. Proven experience with digital cameras and lighting.
  9. High technical proficiency in PhotoShop, Capture One, and networked computers.
  10. Strong understanding of colour correction and image constraints.
  11. Ability to work well within a team.
  12. Detail-oriented and creative.
  13. Integrity, honesty, openness, and a willingness to operate as a team player.
