About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Care Officer to join our team at Throstle Nest, a new children's home for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism.

Job Description

As a Care Officer, you will be responsible for providing care and support to our children and young people. This includes encouraging and promoting their interests and hobbies, supporting their education, and helping them develop independence skills. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, cooking meals, and ensuring that our young people feel safe and secure.

You will work closely with other members of the team to create a nurturing and supportive environment that helps our young people reach their full potential. This includes collaborating with multiple agencies and working towards each young person's care plan.

Requirements
  • A QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • Experience working with young people with autism or disabilities
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships and provide understanding care
  • Must be a car driver and have access to their own car due to the location of the home
What We Offer
  • An estimated salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Enhanced pay for weekend and evening hours, with an additional £4,500 per year for weekend enhancements and £2,000 per year for sleep-in shifts
