Scrub Practitioner for Maternity Operating Theatre

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Scrub Practitioner to join our Maternity operating theatre team in York and Scarborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within our Maternity multidisciplinary team and have a positive impact in our community.
Main Duties of the Job
- Demonstrate and develop clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritise the care for patients undergoing a Surgical / Anaesthetic procedure.
- Actively supports patients and their families, communicating clinical information using a variety of methods, to ensure effective understanding.
- Contribute to the continuing development of patient care within the operating theatres, e.g. through sharing knowledge and expertise as required.
- Prepare and organise clinical area to receive patients for elective and emergency.
- To safely identify, prepare, check and assemble equipment required for the relevant operating list.
- Responsible for adhering to the NMC / ODP professional Code of Conduct.

Essential Criteria
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Level 1) or qualified Operating Department Practitioner with HPC registration or Anaesthetic Nurse (ENB 182/183 or equivalent)
Experience

- 3 years' experience in Maternity Theatres OR 3 years' experience in Gynae/GI/Vascular or Urology Theatres

- Demonstrate awareness of current issues in Maternity Services within the NHS
