Academic Leader for Faculty of Medical Sciences

UCL is a pioneering institution that values innovation and research in the medical sciences. As the next Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the Faculty and contributing to the delivery of UCL's strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will be a recognised academic leader in their discipline, with a strong track record of research and academic excellence. They will be responsible for the organisation and general conduct of the Faculty, and will be accountable for the direction, execution, and championing of the Faculty's academic mission and values through its constituent Divisions.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional academic leadership, further the Faculty's research standing, and contribute to the development of a vibrant and inclusive academic community. They will be a strong communicator and collaborator, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, students, and external partners.

The Faculty of Medical Sciences is a world-leading centre for medical research and education, and the Dean will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the Faculty's future direction and success.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic leadership and direction for the Faculty
  • Developing and implementing the Faculty's research strategy
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external partners and stakeholders
  • Leading and managing the Faculty's academic and administrative staff
  • Contributing to the development of UCL's strategic objectives and plans

The successful candidate will be appointed on a permanent basis and will be expected to take up the role as soon as possible.
