Our client, a leading player in the oil and gas industry, is seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Project Engineer to join their team at Orion Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support project teams in identifying project interests and drivers
- Provide technical I&E engineering and controls support to project teams
- Oversight of EPC contractors to ensure designs comply with site standards
- Active participation in HAZOP, HAZIDs, design reviews, and other safety reviews
- Ensure CAPEX projects are suitably scoped for E+I activities
- Liaise with Electrical and Instrument Technical Authorities to ensure E+I proposals align with site requirements
- Manage Functional Safety compliance on CAPEX projects
- Assess new E&I equipment for safety, health, environmental, and quality impact
- Update IS calculations and loop drawings for CAPEX projects
- Ensure qualification and quality obligations are met for project E&I activity
Requirements:
- Candidates must hold a minimum degree in a relevant discipline
- Substantial E&I engineering experience supporting planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of improvements and modifications
- Involvement in projects from feasibility to handover
- Member of a professional body (preferable)
- 5+ years of industry experience within a process safety sector (desirable)
- Willingness to travel as required and attend FATs
- Strong work ethic, proactive attitude, commercial mindset, good communication skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
