About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a well-resourced Special Needs Unit within a sixth-form college in Greenwich. The successful candidate will work closely alongside qualified teachers and professionals to provide support for students within the unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting students attending the SEND unit
  • Assisting with the general pastoral care of the students
  • Providing support for students' emotional and social needs by encouraging and modelling positive behaviour in line with the College's Behaviour Policy
  • Providing one-to-one support, where required
  • Assisting in planning of activities
  • Assisting with the supervision of students outside of lesson times
Requirements
  • Experience supporting children or adults with special educational needs
  • A positive and proactive approach
  • A dedicated attitude with the ability to commit to a full-time position
  • The ability to work independently and within a team
  • Good written and verbal English
