GE Vernova is seeking a Project Engineering Leader to join our Northern European Grid Solutions Business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the engineering activities of our projects, ensuring timely delivery, and managing budgets.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the engineering activities of projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, time, and cost criteria.
- Coordinate design activities, manage project design budgets, and oversee the design change process.
- Supervise and coordinate engineering activities required to execute projects, whether done in-house or by delivery partners.
- Ensure technical coordination of Grid Solutions Projects.
- Manage global time schedules of engineering activities, check coherency of links between engineering activities and other project functions, and organise follow-up of critical activities.
- Plan and manage delivery time of technical interfaces with work packages, put in place exchange interface sheets with partners, customers, and third-party contractors.
- Ensure on-time delivery of design to stakeholders with suitable quality, including Partner documents.
- Support Project Engineering Director and Project I&I Manager in engineering change management for large and complex projects.
- Follow the engineering budget and identify potential savings, highlighting instances requiring additional budget to the Project Manager.
- Participate and contribute to project multidisciplinary design reviews according to EMH procedures and project strategy.
- Manage scope or design changes and prepare related claims and VO to be approved by Project Engineering Director or Project Manager.
- Analyse customer technical requirements, prepare and consolidate clause-by-clause analysis, and ensure compliance to customer requirements through Technical Queries, identify, track, and manage potential changes.
- Represent customer interests in design decisions at Project Manager's request.
- Ensure management of return status of project documentation internal or external (approved, comments, resubmit, rejected) for your work package.
- Check effectiveness of design against delivery of contract requirements within project budget and look for global cost optimisation in all design phases and mainly during basic design.
- Engineering degree level or equivalent education/experience.
- Experience of engineering activities as lead engineer in EPC type environment.
- Successful experience in project technical management in a multi-disciplinary team's context, including multiple interfaces and with products coming from several countries.
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of GIS systems is beneficial.
