Chief Operating Officer

Smyth & Co Not for Profit is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operating Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the charity, ensuring that all activities are aligned with the organisation's mission and strategic objectives.

The Chief Operating Officer will work closely with the Founder & CEO to develop and implement the strategic plan for growth, overseeing the charity's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. They will also ensure that the organisation adheres to all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully implementing growth strategies, excellent financial management skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously. They will also have strong leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and manage a small team.

About the Role

  • Operational Leadership - Oversee the day-to-day operations of the charity, ensuring that all activities are aligned with the organisation's mission and strategic objectives.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution - Work closely with the Founder & CEO to develop and implement the strategic plan for growth.
  • Financial Management - Oversee the charity's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Governance & Compliance - Ensure that the organisation adheres to all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, funders, and alumni students.

About the Charity

Smyth & Co Not for Profit is a widening participation education charity that provides free courses in art history to students from underrepresented backgrounds. The charity has a strong track record of success, with over 500 students from over 300 schools across the UK having benefited from their programmes.
