About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support Worker to join our team at Deafway. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality support services to residents with varying needs.

Job Purpose

The primary goal of this role is to promote independence and deliver person-centred support that enables residents to lead an independent lifestyle, compatible with their needs and aspirations. As a Support Worker, you will work closely with residents to provide support with personal care, physical, emotional, and social support, as well as guidance in various aspects of daily life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality person-centred support services to residents, ensuring a safe and culturally appropriate environment that meets their unique needs.
  • Support residents with daily living skills, such as laundry, cooking, and personal care, according to their care plans.
  • Maintain positive relationships with residents, colleagues, and other stakeholders, promoting a supportive and inclusive team culture.
  • Respond to emergencies and challenging situations, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the well-being and safety of residents.
  • Undertake light domestic tasks and general housekeeping duties, supporting residents with bedroom cleaning and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

  • A self-motivated individual with a positive mental attitude, able to maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident decision maker, able to make informed decisions that promote the well-being and safety of residents.

What We Offer

As a Support Worker at Deafway, you can expect:

  • An estimated salary of £22,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • The opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in areas such as British Sign Language (BSL) and Deaf Awareness.
