Job Description: Air Quality and Compliance Officer

We are seeking an experienced Air Quality and Compliance Officer to join our team in Warwickshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing the Council's Contaminated Land Inspection Strategy and formulating advice on the remediation of known areas of contaminated land in the Borough.

You will have a strong understanding of relevant legislation and the underlying concepts and principles of the specialist area, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You will be able to identify, investigate, monitor and rectify pollution in the Borough, and contribute to the development of policy as required in the various fields relating to the activities of the post.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £35,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include a hybrid work arrangement, with opportunities to work from home and in the office.

Duties:
  • Implementation of the Council's Contaminated Land Inspection Strategy.
  • Formulation of advice on the remediation of known areas of contaminated land in the Borough.
  • Identification, investigation and monitoring of air, land, noise and water pollution within the Borough.

Requirements:
  • Local authority experience in environmental health or enforcement.
  • Environmental health/management degree or relevant qualification/experience in contaminated land or acoustics or air quality.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and the underlying concepts and principles of the specialist area.
