Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist setting in providing tailored support for children with SEMH needs.

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing individualized care and guidance to students, helping them thrive in their educational journey.

This role is a temporary position, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the life of a student with SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with a designated student, providing one-on-one support and assistance in accordance with their individual Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).

Foster a supportive and nurturing relationship with the student, building trust and rapport to facilitate their emotional well-being and academic progress.

Implement strategies and interventions to support the student's social, emotional, and behavioral development, promoting positive coping mechanisms and self-regulation skills.

Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement personalized learning objectives and activities tailored to the student's needs and abilities.

Monitor the student's progress and engagement in learning activities, providing feedback and adapting support strategies as necessary to maximize their potential.

Requirements:

Hands-on experience aiding children with special educational needs and disabilities within the UK.

Proficiency with the UK curriculum is essential.

Possession of an Enhanced Child DBS.

Ideally, a background in education or relevant qualifications.

A deep understanding of supporting children with additional needs and the patience to navigate a SEN environment effectively.
