About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our production facility in Cam, between Gloucester and Bristol. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with all health and safety policies and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Resolve breakdowns, carry out preventive maintenance, and work on project/improvement works to minimize production downtime.
  • Conduct risk assessments with relevant personnel and implement controls to minimize risks to acceptable levels.
  • Lock off dangerous machinery immediately or repair and notify.
  • Complete PM sheets with observations, jobs completed, and recommendations, and file with the Maintenance Planner.
  • Actively gather information from production personnel to speed up fault-finding processes.
  • Ensure engineering logs and computer systems are up-to-date with relevant information, including PM numbers, used parts, plant numbers, and urgency of required parts.
  • Work with external contractors, assist in their management, and issue and control permits to work as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Kerry Process Engineers and other off-site engineering support.
  • Assist the department in ordering spares, maintaining, and updating records of plant and equipment.
Requirements
  • Completed apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualifications.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment, or in any manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical bias/multi-skilled, with experience in PID, process automation, VFD, and motor drive knowledge, steam, and steam control systems.
  • Flexible approach with a positive 'can-do' attitude.
  • Experience with SAP/ERP is highly desirable.
