Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Visual Effects Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the visual effects budget and schedule, working closely with production teams, VFX vendors, and post houses.

  • Input into the VFX content across the project to ensure continuity of delivery and quality while ensuring value for money is reached.
  • Main communicator between production, VFX vendors, and post houses.
  • Work with Directors during storyboarding to advise on framings and shot ideas that combine visual and storytelling excellence with maximum efficiency for the VFX process.
  • Collaborate with editorial teams to maximise budget and schedules following best practices and agreed workflows.
  • Collaborate with VFX vendors to maximise budget and schedules.
  • Break down and budget episodes and sequences with vendor input – subject to project-specific requirements.
  • Prepare bid packages for vendors including all scripts and reference materials.
  • Help plan turnover and delivery schedules.
  • Track status and cost of shots through to delivery and report on budget and schedule.
  • Run a shot and asset database.
  • Manage feedback and take charge of Quality Control.
  • Work closely with Execs, Series Producers, and Production Management to ensure desired level of quality is delivered to budget and on schedule, holding vendors accountable where necessary.
  • Participate in client meetings as required.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Organised, able to multitask, and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to share information concisely and effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience of delivering complex VFX on VFX-heavy shows.
  • Experience of tracking shot progress and reporting on costs and schedules.
  • Experience translating creative ambition into VFX deliverables.
  • Familiarity with key software beneficial, especially Shot Grid.
